I have done a lot of private tutoring over the years–in various subjects: Math, English, SAT Prep to name a few. Over time, you gain a lot of tricks, things that you really only game with experience. On the other hand, any teacher or tutor will tell you that one of the most engaging (and therefore generally effective) means of teaching another person is through games. At this teacher resources site, I found a bunch of cool educational games resources. Some were better than other, in particular my pupils enjoyed these math games–if you ever find yourself trying to teach someone you are tutoring about decimals, definitely check out Decimals In Space : which is like Asteriods but with math!
